My deep hope for this class is for my kids to find their identity in Christ.

Kindergarten is where foundations are made. It's most kids' first time being at school, and the things they learn here — about friendships, reading, holding pencils, or adjusting to a lunch schedule — set the groundwork for the rest of their time at school. As we're building on this foundation, the most important thing I can teach these kids is that God loves them, and that he's building them up to who he wants them to be. My deep hope for this classroom is for my kids to find their identity in Christ and to keep their light shining.

One of my favorite things about teaching Kindergarten is getting to see these kids grow. It's been a joy to be able to teach these kids that God transforms us, and then get to watch as God transforms them. Some kids come in a little wild, and being able to watch over the year as they learn to be gentle with others, as they calm down and start to excel and make friends, has been really sweet for me. On the other hand, some kids come in the opposite: gentle and sweet, but not knowing how to hold a pencil. It's also been so good to see them be transformed, to see them writing out full sentences, and becoming more and more confident in themselves.
