The 6th grade class has a strong desire to make connections outside of our classroom that help them to deepen their learning. Here are their thoughts on what this looks like and why it is important:

~How do field trips help to deepen your learning?

"Learning about interesting things that we may not know about and being outside and not just inside of the school."- Sojeata

"I think it helps because it shows you things in person that you are learning and it helps explain the topic more."- Lanaya

~Why are service projects beneficial?

"Service projects are beneficial because not only does it help the certain group but if you were doing something like picking up trash it can help the earth and other people."- Miley

"It helps connect us with other people, and with understanding life better."- Emma

"Service projects are beneficial because we get to help people in our community."- Ioanna

"It gives students a chance to help out and feel as though they have done something for the better of the world."- Allura

~Why do you think it is important to help other people in our community?

"I think that all people can be helped in different ways and that help can be beneficial in ways like helping with subjects like math or English. We can also help with making the living environment better or help raise money for people."- Adryanna

"Because when we help others someday they might help somebody else and the world will become a better place."- Tuhmoz

"It's important so they can have a good life and maybe want to help others too."- Ethan
