At LOGAN Hope, we have the opportunity to invest in our students and families within the classroom, and beyond the classroom. As staff members, we seek to model for our students how to love our God and neighbor through all that we do. To truly love our neighbor, we need to first understand how deeply loved we are by God. Now more than ever, our students have growing questions about who they are, and what their purpose is within each of their unique narratives. As our culture makes room for the challenging questions that our children are being faced with; the people of God must also provide safe, and consistent spaces for our students to process who they are within God’s story.

For our students to understand their role within this larger story, they need the opportunity to first experience what it means to rejoice with their maker in the happiest moments, as well as what it is like to weep alongside Christ as their comfort when they are in the lowest valley.

There is great power in being able to share your own story with someone who you can count on.
As Mirabel Madrigal stated in the latest Disney craze that has been sweeping through our school community:
“Even in our darkest moments, there’s light where you least expect it.”
Several of our students can quote this catchy and colorful film in its entirety. They may not admit it, but the power of a good story goes beyond pure entertainment. When we feel that we are seen and understood, we begin to believe that our stories are noteworthy. The more we are reminded of our significance, we begin to believe that every shattered piece that makes us who we are is equally important, regardless of what we have to offer those around us.

Unfortunately, due to limited support staff and resources, many of our students who receive biblical counseling are only beginning the process before they leave LOGAN Hope. This provides them with a meaningful, yet short window to experience the fullness of what it means to be loved by God through the extension of a caring adult. We hope that by growing the biblical counseling program, more students will come to know their place within God’s story.

We truly believe that by meeting the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our students, that our city will begin to change, as our students begin to process, and move beyond their challenges into the story that God has set before them.
